How to Customize Xbox One Dashboard Theme
This article provides a step-by-step guide on personalizing your Xbox One home screen appearance. While the console no longer supports traditional downloadable themes, you can still change accent colors and set custom background images. Read on to learn how to access the personalization settings and apply your preferred style.
Accessing Personalization Settings
To begin customizing your dashboard, press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide. Navigate to the Profile & System tab, represented by your gamerpic icon, and select Settings. From the Settings menu, choose General and then select Personalization. This hub is where all visual modifications for your interface are managed.
Changing Background Colors
Within the Personalization menu, select the My background option. Here, you can choose from a variety of solid colors provided by the system. Selecting a color will immediately apply it to your dashboard accent and background. This is the quickest way to refresh the look of your home screen without needing external files.
Using Custom Background Images
For a more unique look, you can upload custom images to serve as your dashboard background. You can use screenshots you have captured on the console or images stored on a USB drive. Select Custom images within the My background menu and choose the source location. Once you select an image, you can adjust the positioning and apply it to replace the default solid color.
Saving Your Changes
Once you have selected your desired color or image, the system applies the changes automatically. There is no need to press a separate save button. You can return to the Home screen by pressing the Xbox button to view your new customization. If you wish to revert to the default look, simply return to the Personalization menu and select the default dynamic background option.
